Les peintures vibrantes de Freeman évoquent la transition du cubisme du XXe siècle vers les formes libres plus ondulantes du XXIe. Ses formes colorées suggèrent des gratte-ciels, des vitraux, des figures imaginaires, des textes illisibles ou des pièces de puzzle.

Mes peintures et dessins intègrent des formes trouvées dans l'architecture, le design, la culture populaire et l'histoire de l'art. J'utilise du ruban adhésif pour masquer les formes et créer des formes au pochoir. Ce procédé fait référence aux premières techniques de sérigraphie, ainsi qu'au cubisme et au collage.
Mes peintures et dessins multicolores récents sont réalisés avec des couleurs saturées teintées sur du lin et avec de la gouache sur du papier fait main. Ils sont constitués de formes dessinées à la main qui s'étendent à plat et se rejoignent sur les bords. Les courbes et les irrégularités des bords accentuent l'espace entre les deux, se lisant à la fois comme une ligne et une structure. Les formes et les couleurs sont rendues intuitivement, un choix informant le suivant, toujours en gardant à l'esprit l'interaction de l'espace négatif et positif.
Lorsque j'applique de la peinture à l'huile sur du lin, j'essaie de conserver et d'accentuer les propriétés physiques inhérentes aux deux matériaux, la trame du lin, la couleur pure et saturée de la peinture. Cette approche tactile directe célèbre le détail des formes, la beauté de la couleur singulière et la puissance de la simplicité.
