Victoire d'Harcourt is a French artist born in Bordeaux in 1966; she trained at the Paul Fleury Studio, the School of the Museum of Decorative Arts, and the École du Louvre.
Victoire d’Harcourt’s work is part of an ontological quest in which bronze, far from being a mere inert mass, becomes the vehicle for a reflection on otherness. Through a rigorous formal simplicity, the artist explores the dialectic of fullness and emptiness, capturing the essence of human relationships in structures of tension.
At the heart of her approach lies the figure of the interlacing. Her sculptures depict “Alliances”: bronze rings that brush against one another, interlock, or bind together, symbolizing organic solidarity but also the fragility of connections. Here, the void is not an absence, but an active component—the space necessary for dialogue between the circular forms that structure her universe.
