Nuria Maria is a notable figure in the fields of minimalism and abstraction. She works in an instinctive way which she defines as "a quick and drastic way to completely change things".
“I’m not really planning too much in advance. My paintings are mainly more or less the product of spontaneous shots and improvised compositions. I find the legitimacy of the feeling more important than the perfect layout. Ironically, this unorganized way of working allows me to stay more focused to create something new”
