Alyson Fox, a young contemporary photographer, explores through her work how we perceive an image, influenced by our personal and collective histories. Her artistic approach is based on the idea that every viewer’s perspective is unique, shaped by individual experiences, memories, and emotions. In her photographs, she skillfully plays with contrasts, shapes, and perspectives to create multifaceted images.

She questions the role of memory and history in how we perceive a landscape or a daily scene. According to Alyson Fox, each image can take on varied meanings depending on who is looking at it—a phenomenon she uses to challenge visual certainties and open up more intimate, personal interpretations. The landscapes she captures are not merely physical locations but spaces where memories and stories intertwine, where the viewer’s gaze brings fragments of their own past to the surface.

In her works, Fox does not seek to offer an objective truth but rather to evoke emotions and provoke reflection on the subjectivity of the image. She shows that photography, far from being a simple mirror of reality, is a space where individual and collective memories unfold, where perceptions transform and overlap. The play of multiple perceptions of the same image thus becomes an invitation to personal exploration and a constant rediscovery of the world around us.
