Yosigo grew up in San Sebastian, a Spanish town on the French border. He was recently exhibited at Seoul's Ground Seesaw as part of the Holiday Memories exhibition, from June to December 2022. Yosigo has also worked with brands such as Jack Daniels and Moritz.

In Dubai, Benidorm or Copenhagen, José Javier Serrano, alias Yosigo, captures buildings, beaches and people from afar. Light decides just about everything: volumes and colors obey him, never more hollow or wild than when he caresses them. The ex-graphic artist, a Stephen Shore fanatic, follows his progress from morning to night to build new topographies, precisions of landscapes modified by man, of sites without quality whose beauty astonishes. Yosigo collects them, using cast shadows, balconies and parasols to create an ordinary archive of pure lines, warm tones and clean frames. There's nothing critical about this inventory, and even when he looks at the architecture and beaches that have fallen victim to mass tourism, his gaze remains neutral. All that counts is the harmony of the whole: symmetry and perspective work to maintain calm.

In these uneventful series, windows and bathers are merely forms whose balance sublimates nature and the built environment.
