In his photographic compositions, Dimitri Roubichou plays with light and through a kind of alchemy between lighting and matter, seeks to awaken the viewer's imagination. In the manner of a perfume or a smell that can arouse in us a forgotten memory, a dream, a fantasy or a dream. He is inspired by reality without wanting to reproduce it.
"I photograph my subjects as if with a lantern or a twilight sun, still prominent. The chiaroscuro allows the artist to establish a dialogue, an intimate game with the light, soft or dark, capricious, playful and exquisite at the same time. The photo no longer serves as a mirror of reality, but invites us to a dilation of the senses and to contemplation.
