Natalia Jaime-Cortez was born in 1983, she lives and works in Paris.

She graduated from the National Fine Arts Academy of Paris in 2007 from Richard Deacon studio. Her work draws on multiple and variable materials, which resonate deeply with places, in a multiplicity of means —dance, performance art, drawing, sculpture, video and photography.

She maintains a world of perceptions and relations with the body. This important relation to spaces led her to realize various artist residences in different contexts in France and abroad. In Sao Paulo, Brazil (2006) with the Foundation Armando Alvares Penteado. In 2008, in Morocco in a weaving studio. Then in 2009 in Mali with the French Cultural center of Bamako. After this traveling period she decides to concentrate on drawing and dance practice, Butô mainly.

She presents her work in various places (Centre d’Art Le Lait-Albi/2010- The box in Paris/2010- Chateau de Saint Ouen/2011). After an important residence in 2013 at l’H du Siège in Valenciennes (France) she is invited by Vincenz Sala Gallery (Paris-Berlin) to present her fist solo show Pli / Fold. She is actually represented by this gallery and had other exhibitions where she continues to develop her relation to drawing and performance.
